Teartab flyer for local promotion

A teartab flyer for local promotion of AI Marketers Club. The absolute cheapest form of marketing (~0.01 per click VS $1 per click online…) and how I (John) got started initially; tape these up where people tend to loiter and stand-around such as street corners, outside buildings, etc.

I earned over $1000 (pure profit) doing this some days, as this was the very first way I got started in in direct-response marketing; I put these teartab flyers around campus in the morning to sell my study guides (I always took good notes and loved learning). I would carefully measure which areas of campus got the most torn tabs (the business school) and just focused my efforts in there. I would sit on a bench nearby my tabs, and watch how people would interact with my sign; did they read it and ignore it? Did they read a few words then tune it out? What image can I put on it to better capture attention.

There is something about seeing real people interact with your marketing material, rather than just looking at data, that helps folks understand the deeper psychology of marketing. The best marketers I know have some sort of boots-on-the-ground sales , marketing or promotional experience; a great example is my friend Vito Glazers, who was a club promoter and now works with some of the biggest brands in the world, and has some very funny comedy he does on the side.

I encourage others to do this exercise with this flyer to promote this club, or whatever product or services you wish to promote.

What started with local flyers and 1k/day, would end up becoming internet ads and 100k/days. Marketing can sell anything, and trials like this build character in learning the most important freedom-bringing skill.

Notes:

Replace the QR code with your own affiliate link (as a qr code)

Just search in Google for ‘free qr codes online’ and you’ll find plenty of options for generating a qr code from your affiliate link

I suggest starting with 20.

(advanced, optional, time-consuming) Split-test different flyers by using different QR codes

Tear a tab off each flyer you place; nobody wants to be the first person to tear a tab

Manually inspect flyers, or simply check the ‘Reporting’ or ‘Analytics’ section of the affiliate network you’re using to see how many people scanned your code
