cheers,just wanted to make sure this wasnt another "we are what we do".Even if we interact and do things differently, we are still the same people. Sheltering behind a screen does make it much easier to get caught up in your own world, almost to the point that it would seems that we have fundamentally changed. But men shall be men, women shall be women, teens will be teens, children will be children, old people will be old people. Our values and wants are unchanged, just take different forms.

MWesch is referring to how, when technology has changed throughout history, humans tend to change all of these other things, too. For instance, before the industrial revolution, romantic love wasn't such a priority for those getting married. It was status, alliances, or just economic survival. With regard to communications-we're already seeing how the web & text messaging is changing how we emotionally interact; fewer people are comfortable talking face to face, or even through voice.

Google and Youtube are important parts of the new Web. Huge Parts. Myspace? No, becaus eit can be replaced, there is hi5, Facebook and many others. Replace Google with yahoo?? haha who are you kidding? REplace YouTube with Metacafe? HAHa is that a joke?
