My advice is to start small and then scale up gradually. It’s pretty common for people starting out to get in over their heads and take on too much at once, I know I did. So experiment with a variety of marketing techniques and find what works for your particular niche. Once you find a method that is working for you, start to scale up the time spent on that method, increase time and money spent on that technique and track results.

Craigslist- good to target a city – but your advertisements have to be renewed regularly and there is a lots of spam on the site. Your advertisement only appears on the top until the next person places a listing, causing yours to drop lower down on the screen.

oodle,com -looks pretty good, but I haven’t tried it myself

The first one, gohuman,com is really good because you can link your listing both to a category and a zip code so it gets targeted at the particular area you want it to be seen.
