SEO: How to stay there once you get there?

When your internet marketing techniques are working and your ranking has got to the point where you wanted, what to do next to maintain that position? How often do you perform maintenance?

Or is SEO a one-time shot?

It is definitely not a one-time shot! There are two things that I like to do when I think that I have gotten to the point that I want to be – build more good links to me site and always, always look at the good things that my competitors are going. I have gotten some of my best ideas by looking at what other folks are doing to rank well on terms I am interested in. Once I see I good idea it is time to copy and try to do it a bit better.

    You keep upto date with SEO – follow Danny Sullivan he is the #1 guru.

    You keep doing what you have been doing but make changes to meet the demands of the search engines. e.g. a few years ago meta tags were important – now they are not and then links are important, now search engines are also looking at content.
