i am a MCA student and i have been offered a job of s/w marketing, not marketing over internet. the company name is hallmark global. so can any one please tell me what is s/w marketing and how it differs from regular marketing and the future in it. thnks alot.
It could mean a couple of things, but it would seem these are the two most likely:
1. Marketing Software to people; positioning, promoting, advertising specific software products to people (this seems the most likely to me)
2. Placing marketing messages in software; ads inside videos games, that kind of thing
3. Creating software that helps people market (this seems the least likely)
In any case, when offered a job (or on a job interview, whatever) make sure you have a good understanding of what the job description and day-to-day responsibilities. Legitimate employers should not look down on thoughtful, well researched questions.
