People are naturally drawn to wood products especially those who are nature lovers. The characteristics of wood make us feel comfortable and relaxed. With this,  At home, it makes a lot of people pick wood as for their furniture piece.

Two of the most popular hardwoods today are Brazilian cherry or also known as Jatoba and Teak. They are both good materials for outdoor furniture because they both possess satisfying durability and beauty.

Investing good quality furniture is really important. Comparing the two, learn their pros and cons to know which one to choose when buying outdoor furniture.

Brazilian Cherry Wood

Pros:

The Brazilian Cherry wood has a reddish hue that evokes formality of fine furniture. Its color gets deeper over time, and improves the appearance of the furniture. And it has aesthetically pleasing qualities that attracts people to buy it.

Brazilian Cherry wood is four times as hard as the Douglas Fir tree. It has a straight, even grain pattern that makes it durable, stiff and hard. It is extremely hardwearing and moisture-resistant.

Cons:

Brazilian Cherry wood is prone to splitting and difficult to nail through because of being a very hard wood. It is very challenging to set up and it is difficult to cut and bend.

Teak Wood

Pros:

Teak is a very fine grained wood. It is a very strong wood that makes it perfect for patio furniture. Teak is amazingly flexible, easily shaped and designed.

Teak has an amazingly anti-bacterial surface due to its oil. Also, it cannot be spoiled by insects due to its insect repellent oil in the wood itself.

 It is resistant to water and also it difficult to burn, stain or bleach.

Teak outdoor furniture does not require frequent polishing on a regular routine. Teak oils and teak sealers are can be applied twice a year, or even just once for a year.

Cons:

Teak wood is very much expensive than any other type of furniture.  It will last for decades and will require less maintenance that is why the investment would be worth the pay!  

 Some cleaners might be rough on the teak furniture. And so, high quality teak cleaners (sealers and oils) are needed to be used.  .

While not very much considered, teak furniture is hard and heavy to move because of its weight. It is painful to drag it around.
